Today was the first day with the Communication Skills Group, the classes with students grouped by similar English levels. I have 14 new students! A few are sad to leave their other coach, so I'm trying to emphasize that it is good to listen to other English speakers because you can learn more. Also, I had 15 more minutes of class that I was anticipating, so...It will be better tomorrow! Classroom management is hard.
I was so proud of my PBG, my regular students that I have been working with on Facebook. The theme of week is dreams and courage. I had them write about people they thought were courageous and why, and I was SO impressed with the results: firefighters, police officers, life guards, Nelson Mandela, Doctors without Borders, and a Brazilian politician who is working to fight corruption.
Here is my classroom:
I told my students to each make a letter, but other than that, they did this all themselves! They also printed off pictures from my Facebook and hung them around!!
