We met on the beach close to the hotel and went for a long walk. When we came back, we had fruit and there was a DJ playing music. We had to play a few sports, but they were all on SAND. BASKETBALL ON SAND. If you're thinking, "My, that sounds impossible" you are correct! Instead of dribbling we had to roll the ball. Me and the other coach were getting too tired, so the ref said we could just stand on our side but the kids still had to run, haha. I kept fouling the other team then acting like I didn't know what he was saying because he didn't speak English, but in the end we all hugged and took pictures! I didn't get sunburned because I looked ridiculous, like this:
I was a little disappointed with the turn-out of my team, but here's a few of us:
Of course it was fun, but it was also exhausting! I came home and slept for 4 hours. Then, we went to dinner and had a traditional dish called fejioada, I think...You have rice of course, and two little pots. 1 has like a bean soup, and one has the soup and a lot of meat in it. It was good but very heavy. After, I lifted weights in the hotel. Then, we went out again to a bar to listen to live music. HOWEVER, Paul was not feeling well, and I was very tired because it was like 9p.m. when we left. So, one of our hosts here gave us a ride home, but we had to stop so Paul could barf on the way back. She kept blaming in on the fejioada, saying that it was too heavy for us, but he also swallowed a lot of nasty ocean water, and also food poisoning can happen like a week after you eat the food. The rest of us had grumbly tummies too. Just part of living abroad for a lot of people, I think.
